Network Instruments® Accepted for Common Criteria Evaluation

GigaStor™ and Observer® In Process for Security Certification; Streamlines Government Procurement in US, UK, and Europe

October 13, 2010 – Minneapolis, Minn. – Network Instruments, a worldwide leader in network and application management, today announced its GigaStor retrospective network analysis appliance and the Observer console have been accepted for Common Criteria evaluation.

“Our leading performance management solutions like GigaStor play a critical role in protecting and validating applications and infrastructure of many federal organisations including the U.S. Armed Forces, U.S. Homeland Security, and the U.S. Department of Defense,” said Brad Reinboldt, product marketing manager of Network Instruments. “Being accepted by Electronic Warfare Associates (EWA) for evaluation is a great milestone and testament to the importance of our monitoring solutions for safeguarding the critical infrastructure of governments around the globe.”

Common Criteria is an initiative recognised by governments from many nations including the United States, Canada, Japan, England, Germany, France, and Australia to verify and ensure the security and trustworthiness of information infrastructure products. Certified IT products can be purchased by governmental entities without need for additional evaluation, as they have been validated by accredited laboratories to meet high and consistent standards of quality and security.
