Network Instruments to Speak at IP07

London, 2 October 2007 — Ian Cummins, director of European sales for Network Instruments, will be appearing at IP07 in Earls Court on 17 October, to discuss the merits of Retrospective Network Analysis tools in one of the five free education seminars that are central to IP07.

Nearly 70 percent of IT administrators recently surveyed by Network Instruments are concerned about increased network complexity, and over half said their most frequent problem is a lack of information about network problems and their causes. Retrospective Network Analysis (RNA) is a new technology that reduces the amount of time that administrators need to find and fix network problems by eliminating the task of recreating problem situations.

RNA allows IT administrators to look back through network activity and vast amounts of data and network traffic, reconstructing attacks and failures. These appliances act like a 24 hour surveillance camera, giving system managers the opportunity to view breaches and anomalies within the exact context the breach occurred. RNA can also be used for planning, rollout, and performance management stages for new applications by taking advantage of monitoring and trending data to determine exactly how the new applications, such as VoIP, can effect the network.

IP07 will have five theatres all dedicated to separate aspects of IP convergence, mobility and network infrastructure. Key industry experts will offer advice and guidance on the essential aspects of IP and convergence.
